1. Paste text or JSON into the left box.
2. Read the detected types as pills, or switch to the highlights view to see each value in place.
3. Copy the masked version. JSON stays valid.

Teach the tool your own ID shapes in plain English below the tool, e.g. "also mask badge codes like EMP-1234 as account_number".

## FAQ

## Does my text leave my computer?

No. The check and the masking run on this page. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and closing the tab throws the text away.

## What does it look for?

Nine kinds of details: names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, links and IP addresses, dates and times, account and ID numbers, passwords and keys, and small extras like gender markers. The pills above the result show what it found.

## Does it work on JSON?

Yes. Paste JSON and it masks the values while leaving keys, brackets, and commas alone, so the result still parses.

## Which languages work?

Labels like Name, Email, and Phone work in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Shapes like emails and dates work in any language.

## How do my own rules work?

Write one sentence with an example, such as: also mask badge codes like EMP-1234 as account_number. The page turns it into a pattern on the spot. Your rules stay in this browser.

## When should I mask something before sharing?

Any time the text leaves your hands with real people's details still in it: pasting a chat log into an AI tool, sharing a ticket screenshot, sending a data export to support, posting code or config files, or publishing notes or a dataset that names real people. If in doubt, mask first and share second.

## Can it miss something?

Yes. A detail with no clear shape can slip past, like a school name inside a sentence. Always check the highlights view before you share.
